TVMOBiLi for Devices
TVMOBiLi runs on most embedded devices that run a relatively modern version of linux. As there is such a wide variety of devices like this, we can only provide custom installers for a selection of them, for the remainder we provide a tarball that contains all the files necessary to manually install TVMOBiLi along with instructions. This is not as daunting a task as it sounds, installation is quite straightforward and should only take 5 minutes.
QNAP NAS Devices
Download the QPKG onto your computer. The QPKG contains binaries for both Intel and ARM based devices and will automatically install the correct version onto your NAS.
To install, log onto the QNAP Admin interface and click on 'Applications' and then 'QPKG Center' in the side bar on the left. The QPKG Center will then be displayed in the main screen, click on the 'Get More' tab. Click on the 'Choose File' button and navigate to the location on your computer where you downloaded the package to and click OK. Now click 'Install' to install the package - this will take a few seconds to complete.
If this is the first time you have installed TVMOBiLi on your QNAP then you will need to enable it. While still in QPKG Center click on the 'Installed' tab and you should see a greyed out TVMOBiLi icon. Click on 'Enable' and TVMOBiLi will be immediately started up for you. While the application is enabled it will also be automatically restarted when you reboot your NAS.
Note 1 Some versions of Internet Explorer do not download QPKG files correctly. If you have this problem, try downloading with a different web browser.
Note 2 In some cases the install appears to get stuck at 45%. The most likely cause for this is lack of space in the devices RAMDrive - try rebooting your QNAP and then retry the installation.
Synology NAS Devices
Download the SPK onto your computer. The SPK contains binaries for Intel, ARM and PPC based devices and will automatically install the correct version onto your NAS.
To install, log onto the Synology Admin interface (Diskstation Manager) and click on 'Package Center'. Once Package Center is displayed in the main screen, click on the 'Install / Update' button and a dialogue box will be displayed that will allow you to select the SPK you previously downloaded for installation. Click on the 'Choose File' button and navigate to the location on your computer where you downloaded the package to, click OK. Now click 'Next' and follow the instructions on the screen to install the package - this will take a few seconds to complete.
Note Some versions of Internet Explorer do not download QPKG files correctly. If you have this problem, try downloading with a different web browser.
Thecus NAS Devices
Stéphane Guérithault has put together an installer for Thecus devices. You can get the package by emailing Stéphane direct. Although we have not developed the installer we still support the product.
Alternatively, you can install manually.
All other devices (manual installation)
You will need to have ssh/telnet access to your device to be able to install manually. If you are installing from a windows computer then you will need to download an ssh client application - we recommend the excellent PuTTY.
Download the tarball from the website and save to some convenient location on your NAS. Log on to your NAS with ssh/telnet and navigate to the directory where you saved the package. Unpack the package:
tar -zxvf <tvmobili package>.tar.gz
<tvmobili package>.tar.gz is the package that you downloaded from the website.
In the unpacked directory you will find a readme with full instructions. These instructions can also be found here.
